TNA's Bound For Glory 5 Preview!!

Hello again everyone,

Welcome to the official countdown and preview for tonight's TNA's Bound For Glory 5 from the O.C. in California. Thanks to Slam Wrestling and Jon Waldman for his look and synopsis of tonight's pay per view. So many questions will be answered tonight and here are some that are being asked:

Will Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy) make his TNA debut?
Is this the final night for Sting or will he once again be the World Champion?
Can Nash trust Eric Young or will he be double crossed and lose the Legends title?

All that and so much more will be covered tonight from the O.C. and now coming up NEXT its the TNA Bound For Glory 5 preview:

Countdown to TNA Bound For Glory

By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

Slam Wrestling Website

It's TNA's biggest night of the year, and while the buildup to most of the matches for Bound For Glory has been good, there's still the "big card feel" missing as I look at what lies ahead for viewers.

On the surface, tonight's lineup reeks of the same problem that we've often complained about with TNA -- too many gimmicks. Look up and down the card and the majority of the matches have some sort of stipulation or odd-number of participants.

It's not necessarily a feeling of "same-old, same old," mind you, but there is a feeling of "been there, done that." One can only hope that this feeling will dissipate before it cuts extremely deep into TNA's buyrates.

Here's the outlook for Bound For Glory.

Wrestling's Best vs. Wrestling's Future

Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan

Jon Waldman

I'm still not buying Morgan as a babyface here. I'm guessing this is a lengthy bout that somehow ends in a draw.

Monster’s Ball Match: Hardcore Extreme
Special Guest Referee: Dr. Stevie

Mick Foley vs. Abyss

Jon Waldman

The bizarre thing here is that Foley's the heel when Abyss clearly should be. That's TNA logic for you. There's blood a plenty here, but not enough to get the Jericho level of red. Abyss wins.

MMA vs. TNA

(MMA) Bobby Lashley vs. (TNA) Samoa Joe

Jon Waldman

If this wasn't the biggest night of TNA's year, I'd say this was ending with a DQ. As is, Lashley's taking this one in a cakewalk.

TNA Knockouts Tag Title Match

(C) Taylor Wilde & Sarita vs. The Beautiful People

Jon Waldman

While in most circumstances I'd say that Canadian girls kick ass, the Beautiful People have more reason to hold these belts. Take the Hollywood and Vine blondes.

Knockouts Title Match

(C) ODB vs. Tara vs. Awesome Kong

Jon Waldman

This is another throw-together match which serves more to tease the Kong vs. Tara matchup. I get the feeling ODB isn't keeping the belt, despite really being the "people's champ" in the Kockouts Division. Kong takes back her gold.

Ultimate X for a Future X Division Title Match

Suicide vs. D’Angelo Dinero vs. Daniels vs. Homicide

Jon Waldman

I'd be more psyched for this match under normal circumstances, but this is just such a throw together schmozz. Red's teaming with Don West would seem to indicate a larger push, but really anyone here could walk away with the title. I'll pick Dinero for the heck of it.

Full Metal Mayhem Match for the TNA & IWGP Tag Titles

(TNA) Booker T & Scott Steiner
(IWGP) British Invasion
Team 3D
Beer Money

Jon Waldman

Think of this as the Eurocontinental Title bout at WrestleMania 17, only with weaponry and both titles available at the same time. This screams overbooked garbage and you almost expect that there will be a surprise appearance, maybe a new partner for Steiner with Booker seemingly on his way out of the company. If the rumours about Ken Anderson...Anderson are true, this might be the right place to bring him in, but I'd also not be surprised if Beer Money Inc. claims both belts.

THEE CO-MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING...

TNA Legends Title Match

(C) Kevin Nash vs. Hernandez vs. Eric Young

Jon Waldman

Nash as champion doesn't do much, and if TNA is committed to a Hernandez push he needs to start with this belt. I could see Eric Young scoring a cheap win, but I think he's in the mix to up the workrate only. I'll take Hernandez h
ere.

THEE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING...

TNA World Title Match

(C) AJ Styles vs. Sting

Jon Waldman

On the surface the relationship between Sting and AJ Styles looks like it's only been around a couple months, but really it's been about a year when you look at the two combatants being guys who really were at the centre of the Main Event Mafia vs. TNA Originals feud. Though Sting's career doesn't seem to end with this match, it certainly seems as though the man known outside the ring as Steve Borden is starting the curtain call. Styles wins.
