Fatal Four Way brings an occasional match concept into the spotlight for June's pay-per-view.

This one-pin-to-win bout is a little different than what we saw, for example, at WrestleMania 2000, which was elimination style. Depending on your perspective, this either increases the intensity with each attempt at victory, or decreases the intrigue.

Either way, Fatal Four Way should be an interesting watch with long matches (given that only five bouts have been announced). Let's take a look at the card.

WWE's Fatal 4 Way Countdown!!

WWE United States Title Match

(C) The Miz vs. R-Truth

I don't mind that Miz won the belt on Monday since his win helped establish that the title can change hands easily in an FFW bout. Truth has to be careful or he'll become this generation's Koko B. Ware. I get the feeling Miz keeps the belt and moves into a proper, long feud with former tag partner John Morrison.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match

(C) Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre

I'm getting pretty bored with this feud. I don't know what it is but Kingston and MacIntyre just don't gel. The outside storyline with Teddy Long is already old too. I'm guessing we'll see Matt Hardy interfere here, giving MacIntyre the DQ win which, as he'll show immediately after the match in a letter from McMahon, means that Kofi loses the belt.

Divas Title Fatal 4 Way Match

(C) Eve Torres vs. Maryse vs. Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox

I like that WWE is putting Alicia in the mix here because she does have the ability to go in the ring. Eve's become more impressive and has shown some creativity in the ring. That leaves the two Canucks though, and unfortunately Gail's really sliding now and Maryse's in-ring development has halted a bit (as has her character since she hasn't been given the mic in weeks!). I could see Fox taking the title, but Eve's proving to be pretty valuable and the more title time she gets, the better off she'll be.

THEE CO-MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING...

World Heavyweight Title Fatal 4 Way Match

(C) Jack Swagger vs. The Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

The Undertaker/Kane story has superseded this title match and you can't help but expect that Kane will insert himself into the match one way or another. The likeliest scenario is that the belt will change hands here rather than in the Raw bout, which begs the question as to who to put the title on. Punk always excels with the belt, but Rey and Show haven't been the top dog in years. I get the sneaking suspicion that we'll see Mysterio walk out with the gold, setting up a rematch in July, while Punk moves into a short program with Kane and Show... well, he'll be Show.

THEE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING...

WWE Title Match Fatal 4 Way

(C) John Cena vs. Sheamus vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton

Orton and Edge seem to be headed to a blow-off match at Summerslam to end their feud (2/3 falls would be a nice way to conclude), which leaves Cena and Sheamus. I could see WWE hotshotting the belt back to the Irish lad to set up a mini feud until Triple H comes back, but the Fed seems hell bent on making Cena the victor whenever the odds are stacked against him. The logical thing would be for Cena to pin Edge, giving Sheamus the claim that he was never pinned and thus deserves a one-on-one match in July, so let's go with that scenario.

Remember in this pay per view the 3 title matches that are in a Fatal 4 Way which means the first person to score a pinfall will be the champion. The champion doesn't have to be involved in the decision. The champion only has a 25% chance of keeping their title!

Folks just a reminder for you that you can check back here at about 11:45pm EST for all the results and fallouts from the night that was. Who will be champion?? As we begin the countdown to the biggest blockbuster of the summer. It's WWE SummerSlam!!
