SATURDAY NIGHT'S
MAIN
EVENT BLOG!!!
ONLY ON BLOGSPOT!!
Hello again everyone,
Welcome to the return of KJE style Saturday Night's Main Event Blog here on BlogSpot!!
I wish I could say this is a great return but sadly it's not. On Friday May 20th, 2011 @ approx. 9:25am EST Randy Savage was involved in a car accident that led to the end of his life. The report released early Friday is that he suffered a heart attack at the wheel of his car, lost control then hit a tree head on. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It's a sad time for the Wrestling industry and fans all over the world. Here in this special blog I would like to go through some of the memories that I have of the "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
Once a month on Saturday night on NBC the then WWF now WWE would host Saturday Night's Main Event's. It's like how we have the modern day once a month pay per views but instead it was on NBC. One of my best memories from that show is the great fights he had with Hulk Hogan, Honky Tonk Man, Big Boss Man, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat & so much more. He always brought something that no one else really had. He sold moves, his in ring work told the story of the fight, his passion & anger were all apart of who he was. You could always count on the "Ooooooooooo Yeah" & "Snap It To A Slim Jim"
At WrestleMania 3 he had what many consider to this day one of the greatest title matches in not only WWE history or Wrestling history. He took on Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat there were 73 near falls till a winner was decided. It was a crazy match of that time and still to this day in my opinion. On that night he lost the then WWF Intercontinental title to the Ricky but he would go on to bigger things.
WrestleMania 4 from the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. It was the biggest tournament at that time in WWF history. As the World Heavyweight title was vacant & put up in a 16 man tournament. The "Macho Man" went through Butch Reed, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, The One Man Gang & with a little help from his friend Hulk Hogan pins "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase to become the 1st ever Undisputed World Heavyweight champion in WWF history. What a moment when he was awarded the title celebrating with Miss Elizabeth & Hulk Hogan.
By WrestleMania 5 the paranoia had reached a boiling point the former Mega Powers exploded. They returned to where it all began at the Trump Plaza where it was champion Randy Savage taking on #1 contender Hulk Hogan. The match had no shortage of drama and back and forth action. In the end Hulk Hogan hit the leg drop & become the World champion once again.
Those are just some of the best memories I remember about him. Again another legend that left us way to early in life. He got remarried just a year ago to his wife Lynn. She was in the car but only suffered minor injuries.
I want to say thank you "Macho Man" for all the memories and thank you for entertaining us the way no one else could have. Whether he was a good guy or bad he always brought something different to the table. You will be missed dearly by your family and friends and not to mention the millions......and millions of the fans out there. Macho Madness is not dead it's very much alive. Somehow I have to believe that you are reunited with Miss Elizabeth that left us in 2003.
Thank you very much for joining me on this special look at my memories of Randy Savage. Would love to hear from you the King Jay Entertainment planet on what your favorite memories are of him.
This has been a very special presentation of King Jay Entertainment and this is what the world is watching!!
